After school program software. Registration, billing & attendance.
MyKidReports is built for school-age care: flexible schedules, drop-in or recurring enrollment, hourly to monthly billing, a check-in kiosk with pickup-time tracking, and a parent app the families of older kids actually use. Run before-care, after-care, or both — from one account.
School-age care is its own beast.
Built for full-day daycare? Doesn’t fit.
Before- and after-care programs aren't preschools. Kids attend only morning or afternoon, some come every day while others drop in once a week, and parents want a text update — not 30 photos. That is why software for after school programs has to behave differently from a daycare app, even when it is the same platform underneath.
Schedules that don't fit a daycare box
Before-care from 6:30 to 8:30 AM. After-care from 3 to 6 PM. Drop-ins on early-release Fridays. The software you're using treats every child like a 7 AM–6 PM full-day enrollment.
Particular activities, not a whole-day feed
Before-care arrival, snack at 3:45, homework time, late-bus arrival, dismissal recap. B&AC programs have specific activities tied to specific times — full-day daycare apps don’t even have these categories, so your team works around them or skips them entirely. Post it as Food, Meds, Potty, Health Check, Kudos, a Boo-Boo Report, an Incident Report or an End-of-Day recap — or build your own activity type in seconds.
Parents want signal, not 30 photos
School-age parents want a quick text — an early-release alert, a pickup-time change, a snack-day reminder. They don’t need a photo album. Apps built for infants and toddlers overwhelm them, or send nothing useful at all.
Same platform. A different job after 3pm.
After school registration software, billing, attendance, afterschool scheduling, parent communication and reports in one stack — included on every plan. No upcharges, no per-feature pricing, no hidden modules. Whether you call it after school program management software, after school management software or plain after school software, it is the same account your rooms already run on — no second system, no second login. Flexible schedules per program
Before-care, after-care, school-break programs — each with its own hours, capacity, and days. A child can enroll in one program or several.
Enrollment packets per program
Build a separate enrollment packet for each program with its own forms, paperwork, and pricing. Self-serve, admin-led, or hybrid — your call.
Hourly to monthly billing
Charge by the hour, day, week, or month. Sibling discounts and subsidy splits applied automatically. Card or ACH, payouts next business day.
Check-in & pickup kiosk
Parent or staff check-in at the door with signatures and timestamps. Every drop-off and pickup logged with the time and the staff member who scanned the child in or out.
App, SMS, & email
Send updates through the parent app, email, or SMS — or all three for the things that matter. Newsletters, schedule changes, weather closures.
Reports licensing actually asks for
Attendance with signatures, billing summaries, enrollment with waitlist, activity logs. 11 built-in categories — generate, print, export, or email.
Billing. One invoice per family, however messy the month.
Mixed recurring and drop-in days. An extra drop-in on Wednesday. A sibling discount applied across two programs. A subsidy on one child. All of it lands on a single, clean invoice the family can pay in two taps.
-
Attendance feeds billing automatically. Drop-in days get charged at your drop-in rate. Recurring families keep their plan. Nothing to reconcile at the end of the month.
-
Sibling discounts apply automatically. Set the discount once per family. Every sibling enrolled across before-care, after-care, or both gets the discount applied on every invoice — no manual math.
-
Subsidies split cleanly per invoice. Agency portion separated from family co-pay on every bill. Audit-ready PDFs for funders, ready to export the moment they're requested.
Make as many plans as your program needs.
Before-only, after-only, both programs, drop-in days, summer camp, a special activity track — before- & after-care lives or dies on getting the right family on the right plan. Create unlimited plans, assign them in a tap, and stack plans on the same student when a family enrolls in more than one program.
-
Unlimited plans, your way.Monthly, weekly, hourly, drop-in, summer-only — spin up a new plan in under a minute. Set the amount, the billing frequency, and the invoice timing once.
-
Assign any plan to any student.Tap “Assign”, pick the students, done. See how many students are on each plan at a glance.
-
Stack plans per student.A kid can be on After Care + a Special Activity plan at the same time. Both line items appear on one family invoice — no spreadsheets.
-
Invoice timing you control.Set how many days before the due date each invoice should send. Families get plenty of warning, your collection rate stays high.
Attendance. Every check-in and pickup, signed and time-stamped.
Open any child’s week and you see exactly when they arrived, when they left, who signed them in or out, and how many hours they were with you. The log is the single source of truth — for parents, for licensing, and for billing.
-
Captured at the door, not from memory.Kiosk check-in records the exact minute, the staff who scanned the child in or out, and a parent signature when required.
-
Total hours computed automatically.Per day, per week, per program. No tallying by hand, no end-of-month reconciliation when a family asks for their hours.
-
Edit or add hours when needed.Forgot to scan a kid out? Add the missing hours in one tap, and the log keeps a record of who changed what.

No quote call. The price is on the page.
Every other result on this search hides what it costs behind a demo request. Here is ours, and here is what the product is called wherever you looked for it.
Afterschool program software, spelled either way
Directors search for this as after school program software, afterschool program software, after school care software or school-age care software. It is the same product here, and the same price. One account covers before-care, after-care and school-break camps without a second system or a second bill.
Afterschool registration software parents can use themselves
Families enrol themselves from a link: pick the days, sign the forms, add the emergency contacts, and the roster updates. Drop-in and recurring schedules live side by side, so a Tuesday-only child and a five-day child sit on the same register. That is the afterschool registration software and the afterschool management software in one place, not two subscriptions.
What after school program software costs
MyKidReports is the cheapest after school program software that publishes its price. $0.99 per enrolled child per month, free for up to five children, every feature included — a 40-child programme is under $40 a month. Most platforms on this search publish no price at all; the one that does asks $500 a year. See full pricing.
Drop-in days, without the phone calls.
Before- and after-care runs on one register where a Tuesday-only child sits next to a five-day child. Then Friday is an early release and nine families need the afternoon. Now they ask from their app, and you approve it.
You set the rules once. The app answers the parent.
Turn drop-in (flex-time) care on, then decide what a family may ask for — how far ahead, whether same-day is allowed, and who has to approve it.
- How far ahead. Set two weeks and dates beyond that do not appear on the parent’s calendar at all. Leave it blank for no limit.
- Same-day requests. Off means a request must be in by the end of the day before — the switch that protects your staffing.
- Auto-approve is off by default. Every request waits for you in the inbox, so no room goes over ratio on its own.
- Once a day is booked, only you can remove it. A parent cannot quietly cancel an afternoon you have already rostered.
Every screen on this page is the real MyKidReports interface. Same labels, same wording, same buttons — captured from the app in September 2026.
Drop-in (Flex-time) Care
Set the days, hours, capacity and rates for extra care days.
How parents request
Dates beyond 2 weeks out don’t appear on the parent’s calendar.
Add the day yourself in about ten seconds.
Some families will always call, and that is fine. What matters is that a phone request lands in the same place as one made in the app.
Pick the child. Tap the days. Set the times.
Three taps and the day is on the board. It is the same record as a request the parent made themselves — no parallel paper list, no second invoice.
- Pick the child and their calendar opens on the spot.
- Tap the days. Days inside your booking window show a +; anything past it is greyed out and cannot be added — the two-week rule enforcing itself.
- Set a drop-off and pick-up time for each day. The app will not let you submit until every selected day has both.
- It goes on the family’s next drop-in invoice, billed with their other drop-in days on your usual billing day.
Same app on a phone. Directors approve from a laptop in the office; staff run the 3:15 handover from the corridor. Not a cut-down mobile version — the same screen.
Thu, Sep 10
×Billed with the family’s other drop-in days, on the school’s usual billing day.
Unpaid days go on the family’s next invoice.
The board, in your pocket
The day’s drop-ins, the date range, the filters and the same Add a drop-in day button — on the phone in the corridor, with the reminder that unpaid days go on the family’s next invoice.
- Grouped by the day, not one long list. Each date is its own block with its own count — Thu, Sep 10, 2026 · 2 drop-in(s) — so you read tomorrow in one glance.
- Room and ratio on every line. Green · 0 of 1 here sits above the child, so you can see which room a drop-in lands in before you approve the next one.
- The money is on the same row. USD 30.00 · Unpaid next to the times. No second screen to open, no spreadsheet to reconcile.
- Check in from the same row. The button wakes up on the morning of the day, so the person at the door is not hunting for the child in another screen.

What is the best software for before and after school care programs?+
The best before and after care software handles the realities of school-age programs: kids attend only morning or afternoon, some come every day while others drop in, billing has to match actual attendance, and parents want quick updates rather than a full preschool feed. MyKidReports does all of that with flexible scheduling (before, after, or both), drop-in and recurring enrollment, hourly/daily/weekly/monthly billing, a check-in kiosk with pickup-time tracking, and a parent app with messaging, photos, newsletters, email and SMS.
Can MyKidReports support drop-in attendance and recurring schedules at the same time?+
Yes. Families on a recurring schedule are billed on a recurring plan, and families who drop in are billed for the days they actually attend. The check-in kiosk tracks every drop-off and pickup, attendance flows into billing, and you get one bill per family — no spreadsheets, no manual reconciliation at the end of the month.
How does billing work for before & after care?+
You set the rate structure that fits your program — hourly, daily, weekly, or monthly tuition, with sibling discounts and subsidy splits supported on every invoice. Families pay by card or ACH, payouts land in your bank the next business day. Free for up to 5 children, $0.99 per child per month under 100 children, custom pricing at 100+ children.
Can families enroll on their own, or does our team have to do it?+
Both. Families can self-enroll through a branded enrollment packet, your admin team can enroll them manually, or you can mix the two. Each program (before-only, after-only, both, school-break camp) can have its own enrollment flow with its own forms, paperwork, and pricing.
Can we run before-care, after-care, and a school-break program from the same account?+
Yes. Multiple programs run from one account — each with its own schedule, pricing, and enrollment packet. Families can enroll a child in more than one program and you get one bill per family.
What reports do before & after care programs typically need?+
The four reports school-age programs run most often: Attendance (with signatures and pickup times for licensing visits), Billing (charges, payments, subsidies), Enrollment (current vs. waitlist), and Activity logs. All 11 of MyKidReports’ built-in report categories are available — generate on demand, print, export, or email straight from the page.
Can parents request a drop-in day themselves? +
Yes. Turn on drop-in (flex-time) care and families request an extra day from the parent app. You set how far ahead they may ask, whether same-day requests are allowed, which rooms take drop-ins and the hours for each day. Auto-approve is off by default, so every request waits for you in the inbox, and once a day is booked only staff can remove it. Approved days are billed at your drop-in rate on the family’s next invoice.
